But of course, there is a lot of complexity in markets and economics....not easily defined or understood.Nice blog post.
here is something I think about......deduced by my own readings and reason.
The "velocity" of money has slown to a crawl. When people and banks are fearful, they hold on to cash. this is what is happening now. the derivatives market is, of course, the big elephant in the room. they put a t-shirt on the beast...which reads..."I am not real".......
SO there is a lot of money on the sidelines.....in people's accounts, in the banks, and in the corporations. No one wants to cancel the derivative debt...because it is holding up computerized numbers. They can isolate the debts by cooking the books, or transferring it somewhere else...like to the taxpayer....and kick the can further down the road. but the debt is still there. it is still the sword of Damocles....remember the cartoon where the icicle is sitting over snoopy's doghouse? this is where the governments are today. paralyzed by the high level of debt, and the continuing downward spiral of tax receipts from the sheeple....as the misery feeds on itself. equally deflating......mr DEFLATION has taken over. He is bad, because once people realize prices are dropping...they wait to buy...when it has hit bottom. Unfortunately, this paralyzing influence...where the largest thing someone buys is losing value.......has a chokehold on the world.
the debt the bankers refuse to forgive is the achille's heel. Until they relinquish the debt...or forgive a reasonable amount of prinincipal....until the deflationary forces stop....the misery continues.
Now here is the real thing to think about. In the depression of the 30's...the US government had 0 debt. What is situation today? trillions.....
so who will be the rescuer? who will loosen the chains of the debt killing everyone? The governments? no...they are in debt to the bankers. the people? no, they are spent, and in debt up to their eyeballs. the corporations? No, they are owned by the elite, and are therefore, tax free? The bankers and elite? No, they are too greedy to forgive the debt.
solution, then? there is NONE by man. that is why anarchy and chaos will continue.....and when they thing is really in a mess....the bankers will save us with another ponzi scheme...and continued debt enslavement and bondage.
the real solution?
God's Kingdom. google "50 year jubilee"

[drtom] Comment on "I have decided, for no particular reason,"
Let's see if I understand you correctly. Man is incompetent to govern himself because God made him greedy and selfish...in "God's image" is the way I read the description. So humanity is pre-doomed because we are a faulty product of a perfect being...except for His propensity to create evil. And His jealousy...and the fact that He gets pissed on occasion and drowns the world and created us with the ability to be evil and violent - IN HIS IMAGE! We are, then, just a joke, created by an entity whose main claim to fame is having his only son murdered in the most horrible way imaginable in order to change a law which HE made up in the first place? I don't think so. We are trashing the world and killing everything on it. Even birds don't shit their own nests - only people. And then we should expect that the trillions of people who have been slaughtered in God's name over the aeons will come back to life one day and stand in line to explain to the person who caused their death - AND THE DEATH OF EVERYTHING THAT HAS EVER LIVED - why He shouldn't have done that in the first place and now they know better and have repented and will be good? Is that what you are telling me? Because, if it is, I'll have to tell you that every dog I ever had was a better person than almost anyone I know - and any Heaven which won't let dogs in, but will allow repented mass murderers and pedophiles (the re-born ones...the 'forgiven' ones) isn't someplace I would consider going to in order to spend eternity praising the greatness of the fvcked-up fool who created it. And I gotta tell you that waiting for the 'resurrection' is going to be a long wait. God lied to Adam in the Garden of Eden by telling him he'd die on the day he ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. And along comes a serpent and a woman and tell him it ain't true. And Adam ate and it wasn't true. He didn't die for another 700 years. The serpent was telling the truth and God was lying - and has been lying ever since and I suspect this 'resurrection' story is another whopper. Before you decide to argue that Satan is whispering in my ear, you better do the research. I can quote all of this, chapter and verse. By the way, Izzy isn't getting into Heaven. Gluttony is a sin. It shouldn't be, but I didn't make up the rules. And if I had, I wouldn't kill my son in order to change one of them.
