A couple of years ago I was made Persona-non-grata by a group of physicists - some on the Big Island - because I dared to state unequivocally that Einstein was incomplete ( I said 'wrong') about the speed of light being the speed limit of the universe. Of course, the very idea was anathema - and I was dropped from the list.
I hope some of you are reading this. And I hope you have been following this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/18/cern-experiment-faster-than-light_n_1101151.html . Because John Wheeler was wrong in 1966 and, when the data are finally in, you will discover that ego isn't science. Doctrine isn't science. Closed minds don't progress.
Speaking of which, I was either dropped from the Manoa list or it simply went stale. But, you know, I was right about that non-sensical energy project as well. Sometimes people get so close to a project they can't see the big picture - but scaling up a reactor that's 35% efficient 100 times will simply produce a reactor that's a hundred times larger - and still 35% efficient. It just is.
